Lab Assistant

Lab Technician performs routine and specialized laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The role requires accuracy, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with guidelines set by the Nepal Health Professional Council.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests (hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, serology, etc.)

• Collect and process patient samples (blood, urine, stool, etc.)

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers

• Ensure proper calibration and quality control procedures

• Record, analyze, and report test results accurately

• Maintain laboratory records and documentation

• Follow biosafety and infection control protocols

• Manage lab inventory and ensure adequate supplies

• Assist doctors in interpreting results when required

• Supervise lab assistants (if applicable)

Required Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT)

• Must be registered with Nepal Health Professional Council

• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
