Medical Lab Technician

The Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations by assisting in sample collection, preparation, basic testing, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lab. The role ensures smooth workflow while following safety and quality standards

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting samples (blood, urine, stool, etc.) from patients

• Label, store, and transport specimens properly

• Prepare samples for testing under supervision

• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure cleanliness

• Dispose of medical waste safely following protocols

• Record and maintain patient test data accurately

• Support lab technicians during diagnostic procedures

• Ensure availability of lab supplies and report shortages

• Follow infection control and safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum CMLT (Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology) or equivalent

• Registered with Nepal Health Professional Council (NHPC) (preferred/required)

• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment
