The Roughing Fitter is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of roughing mill equipment by performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks. The role involves monitoring equipment performance, maintaining proper alignment and lubrication, handling breakdowns, and ensuring efficient rolling of billets into intermediate sections. The fitter also plays a key role in minimizing downtime and maintaining production continuity.
Minimum 8 years of experience in roughing mill or similar mechanical operations
Strong knowledge of roughing mill equipment and rolling process
Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems
Ability to handle roll installation, alignment, and adjustments
Knowledge of lubrication systems and preventive maintenance
Ability to identify and fix mechanical faults (bearing failure, misalignment, etc.)
Understanding of pass design for TMT and structural rolling
